In July 2021, a client of ours successfully completed a swimming pool project in Los Angeles. As we all know, a swimming pool is a water-retaining structure used for purposes including leisure and exercise. Pools can be set into the ground or built above it. The following pictures show the Los Angeles swimming pool before and after the application of our product. JINYING is here to support our customers in the realization of their projects through the supply of our high-quality mosaics.

JINYING’s Mosaics

A mosaic is a pattern or image made of small regular or irregular pieces of colored stone, glass or ceramic, held in place by plaster/mortar to cover a surface. Mosaics are often used as floor and wall decoration and were particularly popular in the Ancient Roman world.

The product we used for this project is a mosaic named “Swimming P48D03” from our swimming pool collection. The complete pattern measures 305 x 305 x 6 mm, with a chip size of 48 x 48 mm respectively. What sets JINYING mosaics apart is the ceramic-crackled glaze applied as surface treatment. This makes the mosaic look beautiful and has an attractive gloss. The styling of the mosaic is not only fitting for use in pools but can also be used in bathrooms, kitchens, backsplashes or washing rooms.

Its main advantages are:

1. Multiple color combinations

2. Classic, timeless designs

3. Artistic micro-patterns

4. Ease of installation

5. Ease of cleaning and maintenance

6. Hardwearing glazed surface for durability

We offer a large selection of mosaic tiles in a variety of shapes, sizes, colors and finishes to meet the needs of our customers. It is JINYING’s ambition to provide the highest quality mosaics to meet the demands of our customers.

Mosaic Manufacturing Methods

People often think that mosaics are made by pressing the pieces (tesserae) into a background medium, such as cement. However, the most widely used production techniques are the direct and indirect methods as described below.

With the direct method, the tesserae are stuck firmly into place onto a backing surface. When the adhesive has dried, grout is applied to the mosaic to fill in the gaps.

The indirect method involves sticking tesserae face down onto a temporary surface with water-soluble glue. When set, the entire mosaic can be taken to its final site and pressed into a bed of adhesive or cement. When it is set in place, the paper can be soaked off, with grouting completed from the front surface.

How to Lay Mosaics in a Swimming Pool

1. Make sure the pool is dry and a static test has been carried out on the structure. No water must be used for at least 20 days after laying has been completed. The substrate temperature must remain between 5℃-30℃.

2. Smooth down irregularities in the concrete with wire brushes or a grinder. For special or heavy-duty cleaning, we recommend using a slightly acidic detergent.
